Food chart for 10-12 month baby

10-12 Month Baby Food Routine 

This is a very interesting age group for both babies and parents. Till now from 6 months onward the baby has tried many different types of foods and they have adapted to the new food world. The babies in this age group will be very eager to crawl around and search for things to put into their mouths. They like to chew as they will be teething. Till now they will have at least 6 to 8 teeth.

Important Tips:- 

  • When the baby wakes up start the day with a few sips of lukewarm water.
  • Try to give the food in mashed form. Avoid pureed form.
  • Try to avoid Maida too as it is hard for the baby to digest it.
  • While giving pasta or any other food item check for constipation in babies and avoid it if the baby gets constipated and give it later when his stomach develops slowly.
  • Babies at this age sleep for 12 to 14 hours a day.
  • Give milk to the baby before or after a nap.
  • Avoid salt, sugar, honey, egg whites, spices, and whole milk.
  • Offer water every 2 to 3 hours.
  • The baby should have 480 – 720ml of milk or milk products ( yogurt, cheese, paneer, butter) in a day.

Daily Routine:-

  • Wake up time (6.30 – 7.30 am) = breast milk/Formula milk (150ml – 200ml).
  • Breakfast (8.30 – 9.30 am) = one small bowl
  • Naptime = 10.00 am
  • Mid-morning snack (11.00 – 11.30 am) = Half bowl
  • Lunch (1.00 – 1.30 pm) = one small bowl
  • Naptime = 2.00 pm.
  • Mid-evening snack (5.00 – 5.30 pm) = half bowl
  • Dinner (7.30 – 8.00 pm) = one small bowl
  • Bedtime = 9.00 pm
 

Breakfast Options:-

  • Idli
  • Dosa
  • Oats
  • Poha
  • Upma
  • Daliya
  • Corn flakes
  • Cerelac
  • Cheela(moong daal, suji, oats, wheat)
  • Pancake (oats, ragi, suji, wheat)
  • Paratha
  • Halwa
  • Scrambled egg yolk
  • Boiled egg yolk
  • Egg  yolk omlete
  • Fish sticks.
  • Chicken cutlets.

Mid-morning snack:-

  • A bowl of mashed fruits.
  • Yogurt
  • potato and sweet potato wedges
  • Home-made potato chips.
  • Home-made juice.
  • Paneer
  • Chicken/Vegetable soup.

Lunch:-

  • Vegetable pulao.
  • Idli sambar.
  • Khichdi (oats, rice, vegetable, suji, daliya)
  • Sabudana kheer.
  • Chapati with milk or dal
  • Rajma rice.
  • Chole rice.
  • Pasta.
  • Dal rice.
  • Curd rice.
  • Paratha.
  • Uttapam.
  • Dosa.
  • Vegetable curry with rice or paratha.
  • Chicken kichdi.
  • Egg yolk rice.
  • Fish rice.
  • Mutton soup.
  • Roasted fish.

Mid-evening snack:-

  • Soups (Vegetable, tomato, chicken, pumpkin).
  • Banana smoothie.
  • Avacado smoothie.
  • Fruit custard.
  • Yogurt.
  • Milkshake.
  • Mixed fruit smoothie.

Dinner:-

  • Vegetable pulao.
  • Idli sambar.
  • Khichdi (oats, rice, vegetable, suji, daliya)
  • Sabudana kheer.
  • Chapati with milk or dal
  • Rajma rice.
  • Chole rice.
  • Pasta.
  • Dal rice.
  • Curd rice.
  • Paratha.
  • Uttapam.
  • Dosa.
  • Vegetable curry with rice or paratha.
